We were a group of five friends who all are consumed by wanderlust. We love to go places, explore far flung areas, experience untouched destinations and spend time at secluded places. Well, in January this year, we decided to hit Goa as this was the only popular place that we had not experienced. The most interesting thing we did was planning a road trip. This time we simply said no to air travel or train. And believe us, it was one of the most amazing trips we have experienced yet. We planned an itinerary on the way and listed all the must visit places in Goa. Our focus is always on secluded places as such destinations let you feel yourself.
As we hit Goa, we first had lunch, relaxed at Mandrem beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in North Goa. The next slot of 4 hours made us realize that we had done a blunder as we did not booked any accommodation in advance. We did not expect such a huge crowd. It was the peak season and all hotels in Goa were booked. For a moment I thought as if we will sleep in taxi at least for a night. Well, we enquired in all local hotels, however, got disappointing answer “sorry, no room.” There was a very small accommodation in the same locality that had two rooms available. As we entered the room, we found it is far better to stay in car than spending a night here due to very poor quality and low standard.
We surprisingly met another group of tourists which was a family. They told us that they are staying in Hotel Mira which was located near Calangute Beach. We somehow managed to reach the location. You know what! They had accommodation available for five people and it was that good that we could not afford to say no.
